ICW is a three-day conference organised by a partnership of weighing industry associations from all over the world and international organisations OIML and BIPM. It is a key event for everyone involved in measurement, bringing together researchers, industry, and authorities worldwide. The 1st ICW in 2023 was successfully held in Germany with 230 participants from 25 countries.

International Conference of Weighing consists of plenary sessions and several parallel sessions where key experts will give presentations on recent developments related to weighing. These parallel sessions include a track dedicated to scientific metrology. It will be an excellent opportunity to present and discuss your ideas with a global audience of experts from various backgrounds in the weighing sector.

Dissemination of the Redefined Mass Unit
How the kilogram, now defined by the Planck constant, is realized and disseminated worldwide. Share advancements in traceability chains, calibration strategies, and their impact on industry and science.

Next-Generation Balances
From Kibble balances enabling quantum-based mass realization to electrostatic balances for ultra-small masses—present breakthroughs in design, precision, and automation.

Digital Transformation in Metrology
The role of Digital Twins for predictive maintenance and simulation, and Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC) for secure, interoperable, and automated calibration processes.

Mass and Density Metrology

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must be written in English and should not exceed two pages. Please submit in MS Word format (.docx or .doc).

Use the following layout:

• Title: Centered, all caps, Calibri 14 pt
• Authors and affiliations: Below title, Calibri 11 pt
• Text: Calibri 11 pt, single-spaced
• Headings: Headline 1 bold on a separate line; Headline 2 bold and underlined on the same line
• Margins: Standard
• SI units must be used correctly (refer to BIPM SI Guide). Use a dot (.) as decimal separator.

References should follow this format:

• Evaluation completed by: Tuesday, 31 March 2026

Interested presenters are requested to submit their abstract through an online system by Friday 27th February 2026

   The ConfAid will automatically send an e-mail for confirmation after you have created a user account. If you can not find the confirmation e-mail, it may have been sent to your spam box.
2. Log into ConfAid to proceed with your submission.
   Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the ICW Steering Committee on demand, and authors will be notified whether their abstracts are accepted or rejected by email in a timely manner.
   Please obtain permission from your supervisor or advisor before submission.
